Mother Nature Gives Cary the Signal to Start Annual Leaf Collection
November 5, 2010
The leaves are falling and the Town of Cary is starting its annual free Loose Leaf Collection Program. From November 8, 2010-January 31, 2011, Cary citizens may place loose leaves curbside once a month according to this year’s collection map and schedule. Leaves must be curbside by 7 a.m. on the first scheduled collection day, and should be off the street and away from sidewalks, fire hydrants and water meters.
Additional appointments for loose leaf collection during November, December and January are available for a cost of $100 per pick-up; collection appointments from January 31 through March 31, 2011 can be made at no charge. Call (919) 469-4090 to schedule a special collection.
Throughout the year, properly prepared leaves are collected as regular yard waste collection. Place yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day in reusable containers, paper bags or securely tied bundles. Yard waste will not be collected the week of December 27. Year-round, the Cary Convenience Center, 313 N. Dixon Avenue, also accepts leaves at no charge.
