Gas Repairs Cause Evening Commute Closures in Cary
Effective immediately, Town of Cary Police has closed the following streets: N. Dixon Avenue from West Chatham Street to Holloway Street, Holloway Street, N. West Street, and Hillsboro Street from N. West Street to N. Harrison Avenue. The closures are necessary as PSNC Energy works to fix a 2-inch gas service line ruptured earlier today by contractors working on behalf of the Town of Cary. The closures are expected to last through the overnight hours.
Currently, there have been no evacuations and no health implications; however due to the active gas leak and wind speed, citizens in the surrounding area may smell mild gas odors. If a gas odor is detected, please call 911. Gas service questions should be directed to PSNC Customer Service at 1-877-776-2427.
