Family Fun Awaits All at Cary's Annual Easter Egg Hunt

CARY, NC – Traditionally scheduled on Good Friday, the 19th Annual Cary Easter Egg Hunt is being held one week earlier to better accommodate the thousands expected to attend. Families are invited to Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, on Saturday March 27, 2010. Morning egg hunts will begin at 10 a.m. and afternoon hunts will begin at 1:30 p.m. The Easter Bunny, magician Magic Shaun, Harris Teeter’s “Harry the Dragon,” and the Cary Police, Fire and Rescue Departments will be on-hand to provide entertainment between hunts.

After much success last year, the hunts will again be held in intervals to make room for every age group. First, children ages 3 and younger will begin their hunt on Field #1; children ages 4-6 will follow on Field #2; and children ages 7-10 will then start on Field #3. A magic show is scheduled at the Sertoma Amphitheatre at the end of both the morning and afternoon hunts.

Prior to the egg hunt, the Town’s Teen Council is also hosting “Breakfast with the Bunny” from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.  During this sold-out event, kids will dine and take photos with the Easter Bunny.

“Our Easter Egg hunt continues to be a hit among kids and parents alike,” said Bond Park Supervisor Bill Eucker. “It’s a great opportunity for children to meet the Easter Bunny, and allows families to see our Boathouse, which opens one week later.”

In case of inclement weather, the Town will hold one hunt on Sunday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m. and "Breakfast with the Bunny" will be held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. with light snacks instead of breakfast items.
