Citizens Police Academy Offers Behind-the-Scenes Look at Cary Police Department

Sign up now for the Town of Cary’s 29th Citizens Police Academy, a program that gives Cary residents an “up-close and personal” view of their Police Department. Classes meet Wednesday nights from 6-9 p.m. February 16-May 4, 2011. The free program covers topics like criminal and constitutional law, patrol, criminal investigations, DWI detection, youth services and domestic violence, and includes a trip to the firing range and the opportunity to shadow a patrol officer. The class is a prerequisite for citizens interested in becoming members of the Citizens Assisting Police (CAP) team. Enrollment forms are available in the Town of Cary Police Department and must be returned by January 21, 2011. Registration is limited; no minors, please.
