Compost Event Aims to Grow Garden, Shrink Waste

In honor of International Compost Awareness Week and the one-year anniversary of Spruce, the Town of Cary’s volunteer-based conservation organization, the Town of Cary has partnered with residential yard waste company McGill Environmental Systems to host a Free Compost Giveaway on May 8 at 9 a.m. at the Garmon Operations Center, 400 James Jackson Avenue. While supplies last, Cary citizens can receive up to a yard of free compost, an organic matter that supports waste reduction and water conservation. Proper identification is required, and the offer is valid while supplies last or until noon. No commercial interests, please.  For complete event details, and to learn about other upcoming conservation events, visit Spruce at www.townofcary.org or call (919) 469-4301.
