Crime Alert- Cary Parkway at Waldo Rood Boulevard

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 2, 2010

– Crime Alert –

Citizens in the Cary Parkway and Waldo Rood Boulevard area of Cary are encouraged to be on alert for home burglaries.  On February 7, a citizen reported seeing an unidentifiable man in the crawlspace of his parents’ home.  On February 28, a resident reported a burglary in progress in the same area.  No one was hurt in the two incidents.  While the circumstances are similar, police do not know if these crimes are linked to the January burglaries in the Lochmere area of Cary.

To help prevent these types of crimes, the Town of Cary Police Department reminds citizens to keep all doors locked at all times, including garage doors, exterior doors and car doors. Please be watchful of any suspicious or idling vehicles in residential areas, especially at night, and don’t hesitate to call police with suspicions.

For more crime prevention tips, see the Police Department section of www.townofcary.org or call (919) 469-4324.

Town of Cary Crime Alerts are intended to quickly raise public awareness of a potential or emerging crime issue so that citizens can take preventative action. Crime Alerts are typically issued before substantial information or evidence exists to point to a particular suspect or warrant a full news release.
