Brussels Chamber Orchestra Returns to Cary with Unique Evening Concerts

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary is pleased to welcome the return of one of the world’s most talented chamber music ensembles— the Brussels Chamber Orchestra—for a unique evening of music. Now featuring the talents of soloists from the North Carolina Symphony, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra will treat Triangle listeners to two very different concert experiences.

On Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m., the Brussels Chamber Orchestra will perform a family-friendly concert complete with an engaging educational discussion following one-hour of music. The second concert, scheduled for Friday, March 12, will be a traditional two-hour performance followed by a reception. Both events will be held at the Town of Cary’s Page-Walker Arts & History Center on the Town Hall Campus in downtown Cary. Tickets for the Thursday concert are $10 each, and tickets for the Friday concert are $20 each (includes reception). Remaining tickets may be purchased at the Herb Young Community Center, Monday-Friday, from noon to 6 p.m., or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or 1-800-745-3000.

“With a repertoire including the works of Mozart, Britten, Elgar, Hindemith and Schoenberg, music lovers are sure to have their senses peaked,” said Sarah Preston, Performing Arts Coordinator. “We are excited to welcome back the Brussels Chamber Orchestra and look forward to both their traditional concert and new educational show.”

Founded in 1999, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra is comprised of young virtuosos from six nationalities, each individual bringing their own country's cultural sensitivity, forging a covenant between Asian discipline and European fantasy. The absence of a conductor converts this ensemble into a real chamber music orchestra. In its short but active life, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra has been invited to many international tours covering Germany, Spain, France, Japan, United States, Italy and Mexico.

Prior to its first performance, the Brussels Chamber Orchestra will hold a rehearsal concert on March 11, from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 119 S. Harrison Ave., Cary. This event is free and open to the public.
