There's Still Time to Leave the Grease on the Curb in Cary

January 16, 2009

The Town of Cary is still accepting waste cooking oils through the end of January as part of a pilot program to promote recycling cooking oils and grease into bio-fuel.  Residents can collect a minimum of a 1/2 gallon of cooking fats, oils and grease (FOG) in a sealable container and contact the Town at 469-4090 to schedule a pickup. The container should be labeled "Waste Cooking Oil", and the cap/lid should be secure to prevent spillage.  The pilot program is aimed at discouraging improper and illegal disposal of FOG such as through the Town’s sanitary sewer system or through the storm water system.  For more, visit Fats, Oils and Grease Control at www.townofcary.org
