CARY

on
Saturday, June 20, 2009
, at
3 p.m.
at the Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park,

entertainment.
Holeman
was born in
Orange County
,
North Carolina

blues since he was 14 years old. He credits Blind Boy Fuller as the man who
taught him to play even though he never met Fuller personally. He
learned by listening to Fuller's records and by playing with musicians who had
learned directly from Fuller. Holeman
uses both the
Piedmont
and
Texas
styles in his guitar playing.
Holeman
was awarded a National Heritage Fellowship in 1988 and a North Carolina Folk
Heritage Award in 1994. He is recently retired from being a heavy machine
operator, and currently still tours at home and abroad. He has toured in the
U.S.
,
Europe
and
Asia
.
“Come
out to Bond Park and enjoy the melodies of a blues legend in the great
outdoors,” said Town of

Bunch

the

Band and Applause! Youth Theatre will
perform as part of the Independence Day celebration on July 3.
PineCone
was formed in 1984 to honor the traditional music heritage that makes
North Carolina
