CARY ’S 2009 EASTER EGG HUNT HAS NEW DATE, MORE UPGRADES

Thousands to more easily scour Bond Park on the Saturday before Good Friday this year

CARY, NC – Little egg hunters and their parents will have new treats at Cary’s 18th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 10 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m.; traditionally held on Good Friday, this year’s hunt is being held one week earlier to better accommodate the thousands that are expected to attend.  In addition, parents and kids can more easily reach each hunt site; the time between the egg hunts has been extended from 15 to 20 minutes, and the new field locations are closer to each other. Other featured attractions include:  the Easter bunny, “Harry” the dragon, Woppo from Flow Circus, food vendors and exhilarating rides.

The hunts are being held in intervals to make room for every age group. First, ages 3 and younger will begin their hunt on Field #1, and ages 4-6 will follow on Field #2.  Lastly, the egg hunt for ages 7-10 will take place on Field #3.

“Each year, this event draws thousands of little ones in search of delicious eggs,” said Bond Park Supervisor Bill Eucker.  “We’re still offering a morning hunt as well as an afternoon hunt for those who’d like to come out later in the day.  Each year, this activity provides a fun opportunity for children and parents to enjoy the beauty and activities that the Park offers.”

Prior to the egg hunt, the Town is also hosting “Breakfast with the Bunny” from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.  During this sold-out event, kids will dine and take photos with the Easter Bunny.

In case of inclement weather, the Town will hold one hunt on Sunday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m. and "Breakfast with the Bunny" will be held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. with light snacks instead of breakfast items.
