WRAP UP CARY ’S SPRING SERTOMA SERIES WITH LIVE PERFORMANCE BY DAVID DYER & THE CROOKED SMILE BAND

CARY, NC – All good things must come to an end, but it’s not too late to catch the end of Cary’s Spring Sertoma Concert Series, featuring the bluegrass and rock sounds of David Dyer & The Crooked Smile Band; the concert will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park, 801 High House Road.  The performance is part of the Town’s Annual Spring Sertoma Concert Series that features the best in free, live, outdoor entertainment.

David Dyer & The Crooked Smile Band (CSB) are a diverse group of veteran musicians from several of Central Carolina ’s finest bands. CSB brandishes their own style of bluegrass-dusted “porch-rock” fusing Byrdlike vocal harmonies with Prine-like storytelling that is sometimes humorous, sometimes guttural, but always honest.

CSB has been crafting roots-inspired music since December 1999, including the release of an independent CD in the Fall of 2000.  The group is now out supporting frontman and principal songwriter David Glenn Dyer's latest record, "Crossroads Grocery," currently receiving international recognition.

“Don’t miss your chance to catch the final concert of the Spring Sertoma season,” said Performing Arts Coordinator Sarah Bunch.

The Sertoma Amphitheatre, nestled away inside Bond Park, is one of Cary ’s best-kept secrets. This intimate, 350-seat amphitheatre is a perfect setting for spring concerts. The shade trees, covered stage, and theatre-style seating for the audience make it comfortable to enjoy music in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Music lovers are also invited to return to Sertoma Amphitheatre for the Town’s Summer Sertoma Series, which kicks off on Saturday, June 6 at 7 p.m. with a concert by the Triangle Brass Band.
