CHARLIE CHIKLIS AND THE MOONLIGHTERS RETURN TO CARY WITH MORE BIG BAND TUNES

Band features swing, foxtrots, waltzes and all Latin tempos

 

CARY, NC – Move to the beat of a different drummer during Cary’s Marvelous Music Series bonus concert and dance featuring the big band, Charlie Chiklis and the Moonlighters, at Cary’s Herbert C. Young Community Center , 101 Wilkinson Ave., in Cary on Saturday, April 18, 2009 , at 7:30 p.m.   Advance tickets are on sale now for the bonus performance for $12; tickets at the door are $15.  Tickets for season ticket holders are $10.  Individual tickets can be purchased at the Herb Young Community Center , Monday through Friday, noon-6 p.m. or through Ticketmaster, www.ticketmaster.com or (919) 834-4000.

 

The Moonlighters are a premier dance band with a broad repertoire of music including swing, foxtrots, waltzes and all Latin tempos.  In addition, the band has an impressive library of beach/shag, soft rock and country music arrangements.  Their smooth blend of brass, woodwinds and percussion appeals to all age groups who like to dance or listen.

 

 The leader of the Moonlighters is Dr. Charles Chiklis, President of C.K. Chiklis and Associates (Chemical Consultants) and Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University , Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

 

“Swing into Spring with a live concert by one of the area’s most talented bands,” said Performing Arts Coordinator Sarah Bunch.

 

Guests are also invited to return for the final show of the Marvelous Music Series, featuring folk music pioneer Rusty Evans and “A Tribute to Johnny Cash” on Friday, May 1, 2009
