CARY,
NC – Two of Cary’s finest performance
arts groups, the Concert Singers of Cary and the Triangle Wind Ensemble, will
jump start the Memorial Day weekend with a concert of American medleys on
Saturday, May 23 at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 (table seating), $15 (adults), and $12 (seniors and students);
children under 12 are free. Tickets
can be purchased at Booth Amphitheatre Monday-Friday, noon-6 p.m. and on
Saturday,
The
Concert Singers comprise more than 180 active singers from all walks of life,
and the singers live throughout the Triangle.
The members represent a wide degree of musical experience, from music
teachers and professional singers to "shower singers". Many
are talented in instrumental performance, including piano and organ, guitar,
brass, woodwinds and percussion. The group also boasts singers skilled in stage
musical, opera, plain-song, Renaissance, shape note, barbershop and many other
vocal traditions.
The
Triangle Wind Ensemble was founded in 1999 to provide the area’s most talented
adult amateur wind and percussion instrumentalists with the very best
performance opportunities. Recently
the ensemble performed, by special invitation, at the North Carolina Music
