Traffic Alert - New Flashing Yellow Arrow Signal Lights

TRAFFIC ALERT
Beginning December 15, the Town of Cary will install flashing yellow arrow signal lights at five intersections throughout Town:
• Cary Parkway and Kildaire Farm Road
• Cary Parkway and Bond Lake Dr/MacArthur Drive
• Kildaire Farm Road and Ten Ten Road
• SE Maynard Road and Cary Towne Boulevard
• Walnut Street at US 1/64 northbound ramps
Motorists should expect minor delays during installation, including periodic closings of left-turn lanes. The work will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
The new traffic signals have four vertical lights for motorists making a left turn: a solid red arrow, a solid yellow arrow, a flashing yellow arrow, and a solid green arrow. Motorists turning left on a flashing yellow arrow must first yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
Flashing yellow arrows can increase safety of left-turn movements at intersections and improve traffic flow. For more, visit www.townofcary.org.
