COME SEE THE GRASS CATS PLAY AT CARY’S SERTOMA AMPHITHEATRE

Concert marks the second performance of 2009 Fall Sertoma Series

CARY, NC – Cary’s Sertoma Amphitheatre, 801 High House Road, will provide the perfect outdoor setting for the “Grass Cats” as they perform bluegrass classics on their fiddles and banjos on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 3 p.m.; the concert marks the second concert of the Town of Cary’s 2009 Fall Sertoma Series and is co-sponsored by PineCone. In addition to their lively foot-stomping fiddle and banjo music, the Grass Cats feature tight vocal harmonies, “a capella” style gospel quartets and chart-topping original songs. The Cats also perform cleverly arranged "covers" of songs from artists as diverse as Eric Clapton, Duke Ellington, Johnny Cash and The Who.

“Come out and enjoy the wide range of music that the Grass Cats have to offer,” said Town of Cary Performing Arts Coordinator Sarah Bunch. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of the free, outdoor opportunities offered each year through the Sertoma Series.”

Remaining concerts in the series include: Cary Town Band on Friday, September 25, 7:30 p.m.; and Brass at Bond on Saturday, October 10, 1 p.m. The Town will also host more performing arts events at Sertoma Amphitheatre this fall including a performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Cary Players on October 2-4 & October 8-10, at 7:30 p.m. and Applause! Cary Youth Theatre’s presentation of Dracula on October 15-17, 7:30 p.m. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is $14 (Adults), $11 (Students & Seniors) when purchased in advance. Door price is $14. The October 8 performance is only $10! Dracula is $10 Adults, $8 Students & Seniors, $5 (Children 12 & Under) when purchased in advance. Door price is $10.

In case of rain, the Grass Cats concert will be held at the Kiwanis Shelter in Bond Park.
