In less than three weeks, Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht will announce the winner of Cary’s first Hometown Spirit Award during the Town Council’s regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 12 in the Council Chambers at Cary Town Hall, 316 N. Academy St.; the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.  Selected from a pool of 12 finalists, the winner will receive a plaque, the Town will recognize him/her on a plaque at Town Hall, and the Town will host a reception in his/her honor in conjunction the with the Dec. 5 holiday tree lighting.  The annual award recognizes a citizen who enhances the quality of life in Cary by preserving, promoting and carrying out positive and quantifiable small town community values and traits.
