Citizens to review and provide feedback on designs for the signage system
CARY, NC – As part of the Town of Cary’s continuing efforts to promote Town facilities and downtown as a vital business and entertainment district, the Town is unveiling the preliminary designs for the Town Wayfinding Plan, an initiative that consists of two elements: downtown Cary system signage and a larger Town-wide signage system. The designs will be shown at an open house on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The Wayfinding signage system will address the needs of locals and visitor, both within downtown and along major access thoroughfares. The system will be expandable to accommodate new destinations as needed.
The downtown wayfinding system will include the following elements:

- Gateway signage
- General directional information and wayfinding (pedestrian and vehicular)
- Parking signage
- Directional signage along major transportation corridors
- Street signage
- Banners
- Signage for memorial and historical sites, arts and entertainment venues, and civic buildings
