TRAFFIC SHIFT ANNOUNCED FOR 32ND ANNUAL LAZY DAZE IN DOWNTOWN CARY
This Saturday, August 23, 2008 will mark the 32nd Annual Lazy Daze in beautiful downtown Cary. In order to facilitate the festival set up, the following streets will close at 6 p.m. tonight until approximately 9 p.m. the following day:

North Academy Street between Chatham Street and Cedar Street (100 block)

South Academy Street between Chatham Street and Dry Avenue (100-300 block)

East and West Chatham Street between Walker Street and Harrison Avenue
-
East Park Street for approximately 130 feet east of its intersection with South Academy Street

Webster Street (100 block)
-
Waldo Street to Walker Street
Parking
will be prohibited on these streets beginning at 3 p.m. today until the streets
reopen.
Residents
who live within the festival area will be asked to show a government-issued
picture ID to access the restricted streets. Also, during the festival driveways
on the closed streets will be blocked, so residents planning to travel should
move their vehicles out of the festival area.
