Motorists should avoid US 1 North in Cary near Cary Parkway for the next several hours as public safety crews respond to a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 7:14 p.m. One person has died in the collision. Traffic has been reduced to one lane northbound. The name of the victim and the cause of the crash are not being released at this time.
