CARY, NC – As
part of the Downtown Cary Streetscape Project, the Town of Cary is moving
forward on the $2.6 million to replace and upgrade existing water and sewer
lines within the Streetscape project area to meet future capacity needs and
lower future maintenance and construction costs. The
Town will begin conducting sewer system investigations and utility depth
locations in downtown
During the project, contractors will be
accessing the service lines through manholes in East and

team will be able to evaluate the location of the service lines to determine
conflicts with other utilities and finalize the design of the streetscape
improvements.
Sewer line modifications will occur during
construction of the Streetscape project.
Improvements will include point repairs, re-lining of the sewer
lines, and manhole rehabilitation. In
addition, all water lines and service taps to the water lines will be replaced
within the streetscape area during construction.
Construction for the Downtown Cary Streetscape Project is estimated to
begin in Fall 2009 and last approximately 18 months.
