Trick or Treaters to Totter at Cary Towne Center for Annual Safe-N-Sane Celebration

Families can compete this year in costume contest

October 28, 2008

CARY, NC – All goblins, ghosts, ghouls and other disguised creatures are invited to Cary Towne Center on Friday, October 31, 2008, for the annual Safe-N-Sane Halloween Celebration; “not so scary” storytelling for younger trick or treaters kicks off at 5:30 p.m. followed by trick or treating at mall stores at 6 p.m., and the fun continues with a host of games and contests.  Each year, the Town and Cary Towne Center offer the free event to ages 15 and younger as a safe alternative for Halloween fun.

After the trick or treating begins, secret judges will select among “trick or treaters” to participate in the costume contest finals at 7 p.m. at the mall’s Centerstage.  New this year, moms and dads can dress up along with their youngsters and compete in the family category. In order to be considered for the costume contest, participants should begin trick or treating at 6 p.m.   Costume contest groups are as follows:

  • 2 years and under

  • 3-4 years

  • 5-7 years

  • 8-10 years

  • 11-15 years

  • Family

Also, kids can enjoy the magical entertainment of Michael Creech at 6:30 p.m. at the Centerstage.

“Safe-N-Sane is the perfect opportunity for parents and kids to enjoy great entertainment in a safe environment,” said Danny Bass, assistant community center supervisor with the Town of Cary .
