DURING FAMILY FUN & FITNESS WALK
Walk to feature fun pit stops and prizes for
outstanding pedestrians
CARY,
NC – There’s no such thing as too
young for hundreds of youngsters that will participate in a “grownup”
fitness race during the Kids Together Family Fun & Fitness Walk on Saturday,
May 3 from 8:30 until 11 a.m. at Cary’s Kids Together Park, 111 Thurston
Drive. Kids and their families
will complete the 1.4-mile trek (round-trip) from
As
part of the walk, participants will discover a number of useful stops along the
way, including information on the area’s birds, the Town’s greenways, and
the new public art project for the bridge. Also,
KATAL the Kids Together dragon mascot will greet visitors along their journey.
Little guests will also enjoy a rest stop to play with bubbles.
Prizes
will also be awarded to winning participants for largest family, first to
finish, last to finish, youngest participant, oldest participant, as well as
others.
“We
invite everyone regardless of age or athletic ability to come out for this
entertaining family event,” said Marketing Specialist Leda Isenhour.
Isenhour added that the walk is also accessible for those needing
strollers or wheelchairs.

event is being presented by Kids
Together with support from the Town of
The
N.C. Department of Transportation collaborated with the Town of Cary to install
the U.S.
1/64 pedestrian bridge and connecting trails from MacDonald Woods Park
(north side of U.S. 1/64) to Kids Together Park (south side of U.S. 1/64); the
project was completed in October 2007.
