HUNT IS ON FOR CONCEALED EGGS AT CARY’S 17th ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT ON FRIDAY
World-record juggler to provide entertainment
CARY, NC – Thousands of “little detectives” will comb through grassy fields at Cary’s Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, in search of more than 20,000 plastic eggs during the 17th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, March 21, 2008. The morning hunt kicks off at 10 a.m. followed by a second one at 1:30 p.m. Plastic eggs filled with nearly 1,000 pounds of candy are expected to be discovered by children ages 10 and younger during the free egg hunts. Other featured attractions include: the Easter bunny, “Harry” the dragon, a juggler, a live magic and comedy show, food vendors and exhilarating rides.
The hunts will occur in 15-minute intervals in the morning and afternoon. First, ages 3 and younger will begin their hunt on Field #2, and ages 4-6 will follow on Field #3. Lastly, the egg hunt for ages 7-10 will take place on the multipurpose field adjacent to Bond Lake.
“Make this Easter season one that your child will remember for years to come” said Bond Park Supervisor Bill Eucker. “We’re pleased to provide this fun opportunity for children and parents to enjoy the beauty and activities that the Park offers.”
As part of this year’s event, there will be an appearance by the Easter bunny, along with Harry the dragon. The entertainment continues with magician Jerry Fowler and Chris “Juggleboy” Fowler. “Juggleboy” earned top honors in the Worldwide Juggling Competition on ESPN sports, taking home first place among U.S. jugglers. He also holds the world record for juggling nine sticks at one time.
