Bring the Kids to Cary's Bond Park to Celebrate National Fire Prevention Week

September 9, 2008

Safety Day is being held for the first time at Bond Park, 801 High House Road , as part of National Fire Prevention Week that runs October 5-11, 2008 .  The free event kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 4 and continues until 4 p.m.  Events include the Kid’s Combat Challenge, and other games and educational activities to help promote this year’s theme – “It’s Fire Prevention Week: Prevent Home Fires!”.  In 2006, fire departments across the nation responded to more than 400,000 home fires.  The Cary Fire Department will also visit area kindergarten and first grade classes to promote fire prevention week.  For more, visit the Fire Department section of the Town’s Web site at www.townofcary.org.
