Search Warrant Issued as Part of Cooper Murder Investigation

July 16, 2008

CARY, NC – As part of its investigation into the murder of Nancy Cooper, 34, of Wallsburg Court in Cary, the Town of Cary Police Department obtained and executed a search warrant today for her husband, Brad Cooper, the couple’s residence and their vehicles. Cary police have not named a suspect or a person of interest.

“The moment that we announced that this was a murder, it was important that we secure the home as a possible crime scene,” said Town of Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore. “As you know, an investigation is as important for ruling things out as ruling things in.”

Bazemore again reiterated that this case is considered an isolated incident and that residents should continue to enjoy one of America’s safest cities.

Media note: Additional photos of Nancy Cooper are available on the Town of Cary’s Web site at http://www.townofcary.org/news/news2008/police-nancycooper-photos.htm.
