13th Annual Cary
Kwanzaa is a communal, cultural celebration that honors African-American
people and their heritage. This year's theme is "The Power of the
Spoken Word." The program will feature Reverend William Barber
II, president of the North Carolina NAACP, Granddaddy June Bug, Fred
Motley Dance Company, Vereen Dance Group, P&D Dance Group, Pure
Fiyah Reggae featuring King Ayoola, Edward C. Moon
Jazz Band, Richard
Evans Gospel Group, and Collage Dance Company. A children's village and
community market are also features of the program. Cary Kwanzaa is
co-sponsored by the Ujima Group, Inc and the Town of Cary Parks,
Recreation & Cultural Resources. Free and open to the public. For more
