– TRAFFIC ALERTS –

Please see the following three traffic alerts for work occurring this week in the Town of Cary :

• On Wednesday, August 8, Town crews will temporarily close the eastbound lane of Chatham Street at the West Chatham Street and Old Apex Road split.  The lane closing will be in place from 9 p.m. on Wednesday until 7 a.m. on August 9 and is necessary to perform sewerline maintenance.

• On Thursday, August 9, crews will close the center and eastbound lanes of Chapel Hill Road at the intersection of North Harrison Avenue from 9 p.m. until midnight .  During this time, eastbound traffic on Chapel Hill Road should take Adams Street to North Harrison Avenue back to Chapel Hill Road .  Then, workers will close Adams Street to thru traffic on Friday, August 10 beginning at 12:01 a.m. until 3 a.m.   The closings are necessary to continue waterline maintenance.

• On Thursday, August 9 and Friday, August 10, traffic on Tryon Road between Piney Plains Road and Wellingborough Drive will be temporarily reduced to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily; flaggers will direct motorists in an alternating pattern through the section.  Motorists should expect at least a 30-minute delay traveling through the area and are strongly encouraged to use an alternate route.  The lane reduction is necessary for crews to install drainage pipe as part of the Tryon Road Widening Project.
