TRAFFIC ALERT UPDATE

One eastbound lane of Cary Parkway at Hampton Valley Road is temporarily closed because of an automobile accident and is expected to reopen this evening.  Motorists needing to access Cary Parkway from U.S. 1/64 are encouraged to take the Tryon Road/U.S. 64 or Walnut Street exits. Also as a result of the accident, the traffic signal is not working at Hampton Valley Road , and Police are directing traffic through the intersection.  The signal is expected to be operating by this evening.  Heavy delays are expected during the closing and signal outage, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.
