Recognize and announce the Red Ribbon Poster Contest winners from five

The Town of Cary Police Department and representatives from Cary Town
Council will announce the winners of the Red Ribbon Poster Contest, a
competition sponsored by the Town to promote a drug-free lifestyle.
All school winners, their families,
poster judges, and the Town Council have been invited to participate in a pizza
dinner before the meeting, and winners will be recognized during the meeting.
BACKGROUND:
Sixth,
seventh and eighth-grade students at West Cary, East Cary, Reedy Creek, West
Lake and Davis Drive middle schools demonstrated their commitment to a healthy,
drug-free lifestyle during Red Ribbon week, October 24-31.
In addition to wearing red ribbons during the week-long event, students
were invited to submit entries in the poster contest that incorporated the theme
“Drug Free – My Character Matters!” Three
winners were selected from each school, and the first place winner from each
school competed for the overall winner. The
