TEENS WILL BE JAMMIN’ AT
Top
bands to compete for their share of the $2,000 Prize Pot
CARY,
NC – Cary’s “idols” will be
showing they have what it takes to be the Town’s top band at the Annual
Jamfest on Saturday, May 5 at the Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park, 801 High
House Road. From
The
following groups are scheduled to perform in 30-minute intervals during the
annual, free event:

B-Side Pilots
-
Exit 285
-
Hayvyn
-
Mountain Penn
-
Silver Lining
-
Stolen Youth
-
Suffering from Sanity
-
We Can't Make It Right
“Teen
music lovers throughout the Triangle should come out for this captivating and
energetic musical experience,” said Cindi King, Herbert C. Young Community
Center Assistant Supervisor. “Each
year, this event attracts hundreds of teens that come out to watch their friends
put on their best show. Even better,
the competition adds a little more excitement to the event.”
Bands
will be judged on songs, vocals, musicianship, set quality and stage presence.
Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st
place - $500, 2nd place - $350, and 3rd place - $250.
The remaining bands will each receive $180.
In
order to compete, all band members must be in a middle or high school, and at
least half of the band members must attend a
