CARY POLICE CHARGE LOCAL FATHER WITH MURDER

CARY, NC – Cary Police arrested a father today in the suspicious death of his son; Diontay Deshone Williams, 24, of 1307 Castalia Drive in Cary was arrested and charged with murder in the death of his seven-month old infant. 

On August 22, 2007 , shortly after 6 p.m. , Cary Police, Fire and EMS responded to a call from the Williams’ home saying that the child was in distress.  The child was later transported to Western Wake Hospital , where the child later died from his injuries.  

"This is a terrible tragedy, not just for the family, but for our entire community,” said Major Tony Godwin. 

This homicide marks the first murder in Cary this year; the most recent one occurred in October 2006.
