CARY POLICE SEEK HELP IDENTIFYING ROBBER WHO SHOT store clerk

Suspect attempted to rob another area convenience store shortly before shooting

 

CARY , NC The Town of Cary Police Department is asking for your help in identifying a man suspected of shooting a store clerk during an attempted armed robbery at the High House Food Mart, 832 Old Apex Road , in Cary at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30.  The suspect walked into the station, brandished a large silver revolver and shot the clerk before fleeing the scene.  The clerk then called 911 and was later taken to WakeMed Raleigh; the clerk was conscious upon being transported.

 

The suspect is described as a black male, five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall, and was last seen wearing a long, navy blue nylon jacket with gray piping over a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a navy or black baseball cap with no logo, white tennis shoes and black gloves.

 

Police believe the suspect is the same one shown on surveillance cameras during a robbery attempt that occurred at 8:36 p.m. the same night at the Phillips 66 gas station at 1001 N. Harrison Ave. in Cary .  During this incident, the suspect allegedly brandished a large silver revolver at the clerk; the suspect fled the scene empty-handed and no one was hurt.   

 

In addition to the suspect, Police would like to speak with a man who they think might have valuable information about the case.  This person of interest is pictured here.
