Cary players celebrate the ups and downs of love valentine’s weekend

CARY, NC - With classic love scenes, comedic one-act plays and heart-strumming love songs, the Cary Players takes a lighthearted look at the many sides of love in New Romances; Second Chances: Love Bits and Bites 2007, returning for a second year to the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop Road, on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, February 11 at 6 p.m.

Love Bits and Bites was a big hit with audiences at its debut last year, selling out for both performances, and the ensemble cast is back this year with new tales of love and delicious treats for those who attend the Valentine’s weekend performance. Audience members will be greeted on the night of the show with either a red or silver Hershey’s kiss, indicating where they will start the evening. Guests with a red kiss will begin the evening on the bottom floor and enjoy love scenes and songs that celebrate one side of love; those with a silver kiss will begin on the third floor where they will entertained by scenes and songs that explore a different side of love. At intermission, both groups will be treated to complimentary sweet treats before switching floors to enjoy the performances they didn’t see during the first half.

“We’re thrilled to bring this show back with new surprises for our audience,” said show director and Town of Cary Cultural Arts Manager Lyman Collins. “This production was such a wonderful success last year that we’ve added an additional performance on Sunday at Page-Walker.”

Tickets to the show are $15 and are available at the Herb Young Community Center box office or through Ticketmaster at (919) 834-4000 or www.ticketmaster.com.
