TOWN OF CARY TO UNHOOK THE HOSE THAT OFFICIALLY OPENS FIRE STATION #7 IN WESTERN CARY

 

WHAT:           Uncoupling ceremony and open house for Cary ’s newest Fire Station #7, which is being shared with Morrisville FD in a unique, cooperative arrangement

 

WHEN:          Wednesday, April 25, 2007

10 a.m.

 

WHERE:        6900 Carpenter Fire Station Road

                        Cary , NC

                       

WHO:             Cary Mayor Ernie McAlister will join Fire Chief Allan Cain and other local officials to unhook the ceremonial hose to officially open up Cary ’s Fire Station #7.

 

 

BACKGROUND:

The ceremony culminates construction that began in July 2005 on the $4.1 million, 17,021-square-foot building that will house two companies from the Cary Fire Department and one from the Morrisville Fire Department.  The towns entered into an agreement to co-locate in the facility because of the close proximity of the municipalities’ service areas, and the Morrisville FD had outgrown their facility, which is close to the new fire station.  The Cary Fire Department will provide fire protection to the Town of Cary , and the Morrisville Fire Department will continue to service their community and unincorporated areas of Wake County

 

 

MEDIA NOTE:

Following the ceremony, tours will be given of the new facility.    

 

DIRECTIONS:

Travel I-40 to the Aviation Parkway Exit.  Travel south on Aviation Parkway and continue onto Morrisville Carpenter Road .  Then, turn right onto Carpenter Fire Station Road ; the fire station will be on the right after passing over N.C. Highway 55.
