CITIZENS INVITED TO give more input on Parking
Plans For Downtown
Location
and design of future parking facilities to be discussed

location of downtown parking facilities in
The
results of this week’s meeting will be incorporated into a draft plan, along
with the results of a downtown business survey, surveys collected at the first
public input session and the input of key downtown stakeholders. Another
public meeting will be held in January to share the results of the draft plan
with the public and to take further comment.
Designed
to create a comprehensive parking strategy, the plan will consider issues
related to the management of the existing supply of parking, as well as a
strategy for future needs, which will likely incorporate a combination of
on-street and structured parking facilities. This
Downtown Parking Strategic Implementation Plan will be used to guide decision
making with regard to continuing efforts to encourage new business and living
opportunities in the downtown

and Associates of Southfield, MI was awarded the contract to create the plan at
a cost not to exceed $59,150 as part of the Town of
