Bazemore to become Interim Chief

of Cary Police Chief Scott
A. Cunningham announced his resignation after more than two years of service
to pursue other professional opportunities; his last day of employment will be
Cunningham brought many new ideas to the operation of the Cary Police Department that may be used to enhance service to citizens. During his tenure, the Cary Police Department was re-accredited and recognized as a leader in the management of sex offenders. In addition, 20 new officer positions were created and filled.
“Chief Cunningham has worked hard in trying to position the department to better serve the citizens and community going forward. We wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Town Manager Bill Coleman.
