BAJOREK TO SERVE AS CARY ’S INTERIM PUBLIC WORKS & UTILITIES DIRECTOR

 

CARY , NC Cary Town Manager Bill Coleman has tapped Public Works Director Mike Bajorek to serve as the Town’s Interim Public Works and Utilities (PWUT) Director beginning April 1, 2007 .  He temporarily replaces retiring PWUT Director Kim Fisher who leaves this week after over 22 years with the Town.  Bajorek, 48, will head Cary ’s combined public works and utilities department while the Town concludes a national search for Fisher’s permanent replacement.

 

“I’ve worked with Mike for many years and have every confidence in his ability to lead the department during this transition,” said Town Manager Bill Coleman.

 

Bajorek joined the Town of Cary in 1988 as Assistant Director of Public Works.  He became Cary ’s Public Works Director in 1996. 

 

“I appreciate the Town Manager’s confidence in me and look forward to keeping the department moving smoothly as we all continue to work together to provide Cary citizens with high quality services,” Bajorek said.

 

Bajorek, a retired Major in the Air Force Reserves, holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute and a Masters degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University

 

Bajorek lives in Cary with his wife of 25 years, BJ, and their four children. 

 

Coleman plans to name a permanent replacement for Fisher before this summer.
