TRAVEL
INTO THE FUTURE WITH Applause! CARY YOUTH THEATRE’S FALL PRODUCTION
Based on the H.G. Wells
classic, The Time Machine features
Scientist Filby whose latest invention is a machine that travels through time!
The adventure begins when Filby is propelled far into the future, where he
discovers a world of childlike Eloi, brutal Morlocks and big questions about the
past. When Filby discovers the
future may not be all that it seems, he must risk his life to get back home.
“Bring the entire family
out for a lively performance of this childhood classic,” said Youth Theatre
Coordinator Rachel Green. “Each
year, the area’s most talented youth put on a great performance, and this
year, we’re expecting another spectacular show.”

Since 1999, Applause! productions have been
introducing the world of theatre, performance and production to first-time
performers, designers and stagehands, and giving more advanced participants a
chance to further develop their skills and interests.
The productions also nurture creativity and build confidence in young
people. In addition to two annual
mainstage productions, Applause!
offers process-oriented theatre classes, camps and workshops staffed by
professional actors, designers, directors and teachers.
