CARY POLICE ARREST BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT

CARY , NC Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, Cary Police have identified the suspected robber in the Wachovia Bank heist that occurred in Cary on Monday, March 13.  James Dennison Swisher, 38, of 607 E. Chatham St., Apt. #14 in Cary was taken into custody and charged with one count of common law felonious robbery on Wednesday, March 15.  

“We appreciate the assistance of Crime Stoppers in helping us to quickly identify and arrest the suspect,” said Captain Dave Wulff. 

The suspect entered the Wachovia Bank, 1201 Walnut St. just before 5 p.m. on Monday.  He demanded money and took an undisclosed amount from the teller, who was not harmed.  

Also, Raleigh Police are investigating Swisher for a robbery that occurred at a Subway restaurant on Tuesday, March 14.

Swisher was transported to the Wake County Public Safety Center following his arrest.

SUSPECT SOUGHT IN BANK ROBBERY IN CARY

 

CARY , NC The Town of Cary Police Department is asking for your help in apprehending the individual responsible for a bank robbery today at the Wachovia Bank, 1201 Walnut St. in Cary .  

Police are looking for a white male, 38-43 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160-170 pounds, with light brown to dirty blond hair and was last seen wearing a striped, button-down shirt with blue in it.   

The suspect entered Wachovia just before 5 p.m. today.  He demanded money and took an undisclosed amount from the teller, who was not harmed.  

Cary Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the apprehension of the individual responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information may contact Crime Stoppers at 226-CRIM(E), or the Cary Police Department Watch Commander at (919) 469-4012.  All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at caller's request.
