— traffic alert UPDATE—

The severe rains continue to cause significant flooding in Cary , and motorists should be aware of the following road closings:

  • High House Road at Legault Drive is closed. 

  • Davis Drive at Council Gap Court is closed. 

  • Chapel Hill Road (N.C. 54) is still closed in the vicinity of Northeast Maynard Road .  Motorists are being detoured onto Reedy Creek Road .

Motorists should avoid unnecessary travel as the remnants of Tropical Storm Alberto pass through the area.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid Chapel Hill Road (N.C. 54) in the vicinity of Northeast Maynard Road in Cary this morning.  The severe rains have caused significant flooding in this area, and motorists are being detoured onto Reedy Creek Road .
