AREA TEENS KEEP THE LAUGHS COMING IN CARY

CARY , NC It has been a month since the Applause! Cary Youth Theatre put on its first-ever improv comedy show, and local, talented teens will put on another side-splitting performance on Saturday, March 18 during the first-ever Studio Series I at the Cary Senior Center Ballroom, 120 Maury O'Dell Place at 7 p.m.   Using basic acting skills, combined with advanced character development, acting choices and dialogue work, the teens will present a program of short comical scenes.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. , and the event is free of charge.

“We’re looking forward to another successful show,” said Rachel Green, Youth Theatre Coordinator.  “This event is a great opportunity for local teens to showcase their acting skills, while entertaining the audience with amusing scenes.”  Green added that the teens will present snippets from well-known plays, including Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream.

The show is the last performance of a two-part Drama Workshop Series offered by Applause! Cary Youth Theatre to teach specific theatre skills to teens.  For teens interested in future classes and performances, the next Drama Workshop Series class will be held in the fall, which will culminate in another Studio Series performance.
