CARY POLICE SEEK HELP REUNITING OWNERS WITH STOLEN PROPERTY

 

CARY , NC The suspect is in custody, but the property owners are still at large! Cary Police need your help connecting property owners with their unclaimed property after it was allegedly stolen by Phillip Wrenn Aikens, 25, of 224 Clancy Circle in Cary .  Aikens, who was arrested at his home on Sunday, July 23, may have stolen more than 30 items valued at more than $50,000 in a string of burglaries occurring since January 2006.  The crimes occurred primarily within one to two miles south of the intersection of Kildaire Farm Road and SW Maynard Road in Cary

 

After his arrest, police confiscated the following items that have not been claimed by their owners:

1. One Dell Latitude LM laptop computer with Windows 95

2. One Artograph projector, Model AG100

3. Four framed prints

4. One black Kathy Ireland handbag

5. One small purse containing a changepurse with a business card for ‘Stepping Stones Pediatrics’

6. One black Danbury desk clock

7. Four unopened Que Malaika compact discs

8. Two Cobra walkie-talkies

9. One Nokia cell phone, Model 252C

10. One Dell rechargeable Li-ion battery module, Type 66Whr

11. One gold Seiko watch with dark blue watch face

12. One silver Swiss Hunter watch

13. One gold pendant reading ‘Wife – United States Navy’

14. Assorted Jewelry items

15. Assorted power cords for computers and cell phones

Persons who believe they may be owners of the above property should contact Detective Jim Young at (919) 462-3012.

 

Police also found the following items at the suspect’s home and have returned them to the rightful owners: two laptop computers, various pieces of jewelry, seven cell phones, two palm pilots, one I-pod, two briefcases and assorted personal identifications, checks and documents. 

 

“Taking someone’s personal belongings is terrible, and we hope that returning the property will bring closure to the victims,” said Captain David Wulff. 

   

Aikens is currently being held in the Wake County Public Safety Center on a $68,000 bond.  He was charged with six counts of Felonious Breaking and Entering, one count of Felonious Entering a Motor Vehicle and one count of Felony Larceny.  Additional charges are pending.
