CARY PREPARES FOR WINTRY WEATHER AT EQUIPMENT RODEO

WHAT:           Cary ’s Annual Snow Day Preparation Exercises

WHEN:          Wednesday, October 25, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

WHERE:        SAS Soccer Field Overflow Parking Area, 201 Soccer Park Drive

WHO:             The Town of Cary ’s Public Works and Utilities Department will re-familiarize themselves with equipment and methods for keeping Cary ’s roads and streets safe for motorists through obstacle courses runs and safety checks.

SCHEDULE: (Wednesday, October 25)

• Equipment Rodeo                                                          8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

• Chainsaw Clinic (JD Tree Pros)                                       11:30 a.m.

• Lunch        (Rodeo continues)                                        Noon

Also today, noon-4 p.m., Town crews will prep and mount plows/spreaders at the Town’s Operations Center , 400 James Jackson Ave.

DIRECTIONS:

To SAS Soccer Fields, travel I-40 to N.C. 54.  Travel west on N.C. 54 to Maynard Road .  Turn left onto Maynard Road , then left onto Chatham Street .  Follow Chatham Street to right on Soccer Park Drive .

To Public Works Operations Center, travel I-40 to the Harrison Ave. exit.  Travel south on Harrison Ave. to Cary Parkway .  Turn right onto Cary Parkway and after passing over Chapel Hill Road , make a left onto James Jackson Ave.   The Operations Center will be about ½ mile on the left.
