Man Hit By Car Had No ID

CARY , NC The Town of Cary Police Department is asking for your help in identifying a young man who was struck and killed by a motor vehicle this morning at the intersection of Piney Plains and Tryon roads in southeastern CaryThe deceased is a black male, 18-20 years old with a light beard, 6 feet tall, and wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans.  He was traveling north along Piney Plains when he stepped onto Tryon Road just before 7 a.m.  He was not carrying an ID, and a canvass of the area has produced few leads.

“This is a very sad situation, especially so close to the holidays,” said Lt. Mark Parker.  “With the public’s help, we’ll be able to get in touch with this person’s family as soon as possible.”

According to witnesses at the scene, the 29-year-old female driver of a 1998 Plymouth Neon was traveling west on Tryon Road and moving through the intersection on a green light when the pedestrian stepped in front of the car.  The pedestrian was transported to Wake Med Raleigh where he was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m.
