CARY POLICE SEEK HELP WITH STRING OF ARMED ROBBERIES

 

CARY , NC The Town of Cary Police Department is asking for your help in identifying suspects that may be connected to four armed robberies that have occurred in the past two weeks in Cary ; all of the robberies appear to be connected.  Police also believe the string of robberies may be connected to a recent armed robbery in Raleigh .

 

Police are asking anyone with information on the following incidents to come forward:

  • Rudinos Pizza and Grinders, 1937 High House Road , was robbed at 10:50 p.m. on September 23, 2006 by two males – a possibly white or light-skinned black male and race of second suspect is unknown.  Both suspects were dressed in a black zip-up jacket, ski masks and gloves.

  • Homewood Suites, 100 Macalyson Ct. , was robbed at 6:15 a.m. on September 24, 2006 .  The sole suspect was a light-skinned black male, 6 feet - 6 feet 2 inches tall, 200-220 pounds and was last seen wearing a jean jacket, jean pants and a handkerchief over his face.  The suspect displayed a silver, .45 caliber, military-style pistol.

  • Quality Mart, 1545 Walnut Street , was robbed at 4:23 a.m. on October 2, 2006 .  One suspect was wearing a ball cap with a white bandana over his face and a black jacket with brown fur on the edge with the hood pulled over his head; he appeared to be at least 6 feet tall and had a revolver.  The second suspect carried a silver, .45 caliber, semi-automatic pistol and wore the same style jacket with dark jeans and dark boots.

  • Burger King, 100-F Colonades Way , was robbed at 9:23 p.m. on October 2, 2006 .  One suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, 18 -25, 6 feet – 6 feet 2 inches tall, thin build, wearing a black, long sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes as well as an old fashioned hat with a brim going completely around it.  He was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun.  The second suspect was not seen enough to be described by the victim.

In each of the robberies, an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, and no one was physically harmed.

 

“Anyone with information is urged to come forward,” said Captain Dave Wulff.  “We will not tolerate crime in our Town and will continue to work with the business community and citizens to identify the suspects.”

 

To deter criminals, police suggest keeping all entrances well-lit, especially front entrances.    Also, business owners should avoid keeping cash on premises after business hours, if possible.  Finally, it’s always a good idea to make sure that all property is properly secured. 

 

Armed robbery is a class D felony with a sentence of 38 to 138 months in jail.
