CARY POLICE CHARGE LOCAL TEEN WITH SECOND-DEGREE MURDER

 

CARY , NC The Town of Cary Police Department has charged a Cary teen with second-degree murder in the death of a Garner teen.  Autopsy results reveal that Erica Hicks, 16, of 110 Whithorne Drive , Garner, died on October 3, 2005 from a combination of drugs that police believe a 15-year-old Cary boy provided.  Because the suspect is a juvenile, police cannot release the suspect’s name or address.

 

Police have been working closely with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office on the case for the last several months.

 

“This is a sad and difficult situation for everyone involved,” said Captain Dave Wulff. “While we’re glad to bring some closure to this case, we are mindful of the legacy this terrible tragedy will have for everyone who knows both families.”

 

The suspect has also been charged with knowingly delivering a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance – ecstacy.
