CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY THE TOWN OF CARY WAY

Get an early start on Fourth of July activities at Sertoma Amphitheatre in Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road in Cary on Monday, July 3, beginning at 6 p.m. when the Applause! Cary Youth Theatre presents “We the People”, a patriotic play reminiscent of the nation’s forefathers.  At 7:30 p.m. , the Cary Town Band will present an Independence Eve Concert as part of the Summer Sertoma Series.  Then, come out and celebrate your freedom on Independence Day during an event like none other at Bond Park! Beginning at 8 a.m. , children ages 0-99 are invited to test their strengths in the most unusual contests, including donut eating, watermelon eating, watermelon seed spitting, and water balloon toss.  Folks can also participate in the fishing tournament or the “alternative transportation” parade and watch the dedication of the Boathouse Renovations at the day-long event.  The celebrations continue later that evening at Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway when the North Carolina Symphony takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. , followed by the Triangle’s largest fireworks display.

All events are free.  For more, visit the Independence Day events page at www.townofcary.org.
