CARY POLICE IDENTIFY MAN FOUND NEAR THE BLACK CREEK GREENWAY

 

CARY , NC The Town of  Cary Police Department has identified the deceased man who was found unconscious near the Black Creek Greenway in Cary on Wednesday, May 10 as Frank Javier Pita, 49, of 1413 Carywood Drive in Cary .

 

“We’re always saddened by these types of incidents, and we’re pleased that we could bring a sense of closure for the Pita family,” said Captain Dave Wulff. 

 

Pita, who was formerly identified as John Doe, was found face down and unresponsive just off an access road between the Black Creek Greenway and the Hermitage at Beechtree Apartments in Cary .  He was transported to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh where he was pronounced dead today at 4:35 a.m.

 

The cause of death has not been determined.

CARY POLICE SEEK HELP IN IDENTIFYING MAN FOUND NEAR THE BLACK CREEK GREENWAY

 

CARY , NCThe Town of  Cary Police Department is seeking help in identifying the body of a man, temporarily identified as John Doe, who was found unconscious near the Black Creek Greenway in Cary at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10; he was transported to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh where he was pronounced dead at 4:35 a.m. today.  At this time, police are not treating his death as foul play.

  

Doe was not carrying any ID and could not be identified.  He is described as a white male, mid 40s - mid 50s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, 170-180 pounds, no tattoos, black curly hair with some silver and gray near the ears, brown eyes, and clean shaven face.  He was last seen wearing khaki-colored pants, a dark green polo type shirt, and white socks and walking shoes; he was also wearing a watch and carrying keys to a Lexus and a mailbox as well as two residence keys. 

 

“At this point, we believe that the man did die from natural causes, so we’re hoping that his relatives or friends will recognize him and contact us,” said Captain Dave Wulff.

 

When Cary Police were called to the scene on Wednesday, they found John Doe face down and unresponsive just off an access road between the Black Creek Greenway and the Hermitage at Beechtree Apartments in Cary .

 

His body is being taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill, NC for an autopsy.
