TOWN OF CARY REOPENS MOST ROADS & CLOSES A ROAD AND TWO PARKS

CARY, NC – All but one of Cary’s roads are open following the rains from Tropical Storm Alberto; Town crews have closed Seabrook Avenue from Dunhagen Place to Glengarry Drive because of a broken water main, sewer line and storm drain pipe.  While the water main and sewer line have been repaired, the Town has not set a date for the reopening of the road, because a contractor will have to install a new storm drain pipe.

Also, MacDonald Woods Park , 1601 Seabrook Avenue and Kids Together Park , 111 Thurston Drive have been closed until further notice.  Citizens are reminded that all Town greenways and trails are closed, pending a safety inspection by Public Works staff.  Signs have been posted by Town staff at all facilities announcing the closings and will be removed once it is determined that the facilities are safe for citizens to enjoy.  The Town’s community centers remain open, and general recreation programs will be held as scheduled today.

Solid waste collection was slightly delayed today but will be back on schedule Thursday, June 15.
