twenty-five FIREFIGHtERS TO GRADUATE tomorrow IN CARY

New Recruits Added in Preparation for Opening of Fire Station 7

 

CARY , NC The Town of Cary is all fired up about its newest class of 25 recruits who will graduate from the Cary Fire Department Recruit Academy on Thursday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Cary Academy Fine Arts Center , 1500 North Harrison Avenue The graduation marks the completion of a six-month academy during which the recruits earned their certifications in hazardous material, firefighter II, emergency medical technician, and rescue technician.

“We look forward to celebrating the dedication these recruits have shown during the academy,” said Fire Chief Allan Cain.  “Their skills and knowledge will give our citizens a little more peace of mind – helping provide quality and timely response to emergencies that could prevent property loss and most importantly, save lives.”

 

The new recruits were hired as part of the Town’s Fiscal Year 2006 budget in preparation for the opening of the Town’s new Fire Station 7, 6900 Carpenter Fire Station Road this fall.  The graduates will be absorbed into current and anticipated vacancies when current staff transfers to the new facility.

 

Originally established in 1922 to save lives and property, the Town of Cary Fire Department has evolved from a small volunteer organization providing for the needs of the community into a 211 multi-faceted and dynamic organization.

 

Internationally accredited in 1999 through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International and reaccredited in March 2005, the primary mission of the Cary Fire Department is to protect and enhance the high quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the Town of Cary from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies.
